About Michael
Michael Bush is a lighting designer based in Metro Detroit. He is currently pursuing his BFA in Lighting Design at Wayne State University and is expected to Graduate in May 2027.
Michael started lighting designing shows as a student at Divine Child High School in 2021, his first show was Peter and the Starcatcher.
Michael is currently a Stagehand at the Michael A. Guido Theatre in Dearborn. His job consists of theatrical, concerts, orchestral, and live production lighting design, scenic construction, and other stagehand work. He has also have been spotlight operator for multiple indoor and outdoor productions. Michael’s most recent production was for Stoop Lee, The War and Treaty, and Third Eye Blind at Dearborn Homecoming.
Michael also works at Fantasee Integration as a Field Technician Apprentice, which comprises of system installations and lighting hang and focus. One of significant installation was his involvement in the exterior lighting upgrade at the Motor City Casino and Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, where he has tested new lighting equipment to prepare for installation.
Outside of Theatre, Michael loves to be with family and friends and loves to talk about lighting
